EasyLedger is Canadian bookkeeping software, part of Tally, operated from Nanaimo, British Columbia. Records for this site are stored on servers in Canada.
Account name, email, and a hashed password. The books you enter: transactions, categories, receipts, mileage, budgets, and GST/HST working papers. Contractor social insurance numbers or business numbers, when you enter them for a T4A working copy. A Stripe customer id for paid plans. We do not store card numbers.
To provide the bookkeeping workspace you asked for, produce CRA working copies, and keep the record Canadian businesses are expected to retain. Password-reset mail is transactional. We do not sell personal information and we do not send marketing email from this product unless you ask us to.
Contractor social insurance numbers and business numbers are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are written. A view-only user sees a mask, and the number is left out of the audit log. Passwords are stored as a hash, and changing a password ends older sessions. Tally sync keys are stored as a hash and shown in full only once. Card numbers stay with Stripe.
Transactions, receipts, reports, and the rest of the books are access-controlled on servers in Canada and served over HTTPS. They are not encrypted field by field. Public pages load Inter and JetBrains Mono from Google Fonts, so Google receives the visitor's IP address. Your books are not sent to Google.
Bookkeeping records are kept so you can meet CRA electronic-record expectations, generally six years. GST34, T2125, and T4A export files we generate are retained for seven years. You can ask us to delete an account that is not under a retention hold.
Signed-in users can review and correct their books in the app. For an access or correction request about the account itself, email hello@easyledger.ca. You can also read the pricing page for what each plan includes.
Starter is free. A Pro or Business trial is 60 days and starts when you complete Stripe checkout. Checkout collects a card. You are billed only if you keep the plan after the trial ends.
